We are presently supporting the activities of The School of the New Spirituality, an educational institute now laying the groundwork for a network of classrooms and home-schooling settings in cities, towns, and villages dotting the globe. With classes in the after-school hours for young people and in the evening for adults, this school will offer an invitation to students of every age to explore new ideas about God, about Life, and about Humanity--alternative ideas not taught, or perhaps even openly discussed, in more traditional religious learning environments. The idea will not be to give the students all the answers, but to excite in them the desire to ask new questions. Said Yates: "Education isn't filling a pail, it is lighting a fire." The School of the New Spirituality will exemplify that. A spirit of inquiry will emerge from the School's motto: Consider the possibility that there may be something we do not fully understand about God, about Life, and about Each Other, the understanding of which could change everything. The curriculum will be based in the messages of the Conversations with God series of books, yet will not be limited to them but will include deep examination of the ideas of other contemporary spiritual writings, as well as both traditional and ancient spiritual texts and teachings. The intended outcome: to lay the groundwork for a larger understanding between all people, a place of deeper compassion, a space of greater awareness, and the experience of a grander self. In short, to use education to invite humans everywhere to abandon at last their self-destructive beliefs, alter their cultural story, and change the world forever. To learn more, go to:
