Aside from the personal benefit of being an integral and active part of a movement to create a better world in which to live, the members of The Group of 1000 enjoy some more tangible and immediate advantages. We wish to outline here what you, as a member or a potential member, can expect from your involvement with this organization-from the core administrative team to the community of people who are partnering with one another to make a difference in this way.
The G1K Member's Area is a virtual meeting place for communication and reporting which is made available especially to The Group of 1000 members. In the G1K Member's Area is a Discussion Forum which allows member-to-member communication and dialogue. There are also various other tools in the G1K Member's Area which make it easy to get help, find information, and report on our individual activities.
Every month, usually on a Saturday, there is a scheduled Conference Call with Neale Donald Walsch. In these calls Neale leads a discussion about the goals of the group, reports on activities of G1K around the world, and inspires us by sharing his own personal vision of what we are believing we can accomplish as a group together. It is an opportunity to ask questions and share our own vision and goals. Often, there are "guest speakers" such as the directors of the partner organizations who report on what their organizations are doing and how they are being empowered by the support of The Group of 1000. At times these calls are utilized as member training sessions, to help with a particular challenge we are experiencing as members of the movement for a new spirituality.
From time to time we schedule a Day of Spiritual Focus, and invite members to join us by phone, in community, to meditate with one another, celebrate our oneness and concentrate our energies and thoughts, in a very intentioned way, on creating a space in which peace can thrive and become a reality, and our earth and its people can be healed. Our members come together with Neale to spend ten minutes in prayer and intentioned focus for the creation of peace in our world. Thus, we are dedicating our spiritual energy to this movement, as well as the energy of our time and money, with the focused intention that we can create miracles in the world. As members of the community of conscious creators, we believe that this is possible. It is a very empowering moment together.
If members need guidance in finding an activity, or a Volunteer Role, with which to fulfill their tithe of time -- needing to find something to "do" -- our core team will personally assist in directing members to roles in the partner organizations, finding a good fit for the member and for the groups we support.
